במסגרת פעילותה לחיזוק הקשר עם אקדמיות צעירות בעולם התקיים כינוס אינטרדיסציפלינרי משותף לאקדמיה הצעירה הישראלית ולאקדמיה הצעירה הגרמנית בנושא Big Data and the Future of Research in the Digital Age. מטרת הכינוס הייתה לקדם את הקשר בין המדענים משתי האקדמיות בשאיפה ליזום פעילות עתידית מחקרית ושיתופי פעולה. הכינוס התקיים בבית האקדמיה הלאומית בתאריכים 19-17 בפברואר 2015 ואירח קבוצה של כ–14 חוקרים גרמנים צעירים, רובם חברי האקדמיה הצעירה הגרמנית. כמו כן התארחו שני speakers keynote מאיטליה ומניו יורק. את הכינוס הובילו חברת האקדמיה הצעירה הישראלית ד“ר שרון אהרונסון–להבי וחברת האקדמיה הצעירה הגרמנית ד“ר סיביל באומבך. בכינוס עלו סוגיות הנוגעות למחקר בעידן הדיגיטלי וסוגיות הקשורות ב“ביג דאטה“, כגון האתגרים האתיים, נושא הפרטיות, שמירת מידע, העברת מידע, בינה מלאכותית, הדמיה ויצירתיות. הדיונים וההרצאות היו מתחומי דעת רבים ומגוונים - היסטוריה, מקרא, משפטים, מדע המדינה, מדעי המחשב, פיזיקה, גנטיקה, ביולוגיה, ננוטכנולוגיה, ננו–רפואה, צילום, תקשורת, תיאטרון, מוסיקה ועוד.
